What type of wire do i need for a light switch

I'm moving a light switch so that it's not behind the door. The current wire is too short, so I need to buy some more.

However looking in the TLC Electrical catalogue there are a fair few different types of wire (Grey - twin /earth, White - twin / earth, 3 core + earth, Twin brown + earth etc etc) and then different sizes (14amp , 18amp, 24 amp, 32 amp, 40 amp)

Any help would be excellent

The best cable to use for this would be 1.5mm (6242Y) twin and earth (TLC order code CA 1.5G/1). This is cut per metre which is likely to be the cheapest option for this task.

The cable for a light circuit at a regular house is a 1.5 / 1.0 mm twin and earth. Brown , Blue and yellow / green are standardized color for Europe.
Make sure there are no extensions using connector blocks from your old to the new light switch position. Loose connections make heat and cause a fire.
A competent electrician will help you to do the job.
