Downlight fitting through the kitchen ceiling

Hi

I’d like to have dimmable LED downlights installed in my kitchen. But there is no access to the kitchen ceiling from above as it is the bathroom and the floor has been tiled up.

We’re having some work done in the kitchen already and the ceiling has already been opened up and haven’t been boarded yet. We had two electricians looked at the job, one suggested the ceiling should be left open for him, he can board it himself. The other one said he prefers the ceiling to be boarded, just not plastered, he can drill holes directly.

我的问题是:
(1) Which way is the most cost effective?
(2) Is there a right way of doing it?
(3) Should I board the ceiling or not before the electrician start?

Many thanks!

Hi there, it would be better and less costly if you could leave the ceiling open for the electric works (some wiring must run through timber joists) then boarding up.
Thanks, Vasile

The wires would normally be run whilst there is access to the joists. The wiring for each light point is left coiled above the ceiling at the exact point where the light will be. The electrician makes a 'domino' drawing of the light locations so he knows where to drill to find the wires once the ceiling has been boarded and skimmed.

Hi it's best to let the electrician run the cables while the ceiling in down
He or she will have a diagram of were the cables are
To keep the cost down and 2 visits from the plaster boarding it and waiting
It can be done in a day so that will be most cost effective
