How do i replace the floorboards in my bathroom?

Hi there,

It looks like there have been some long-standing leaks in our bathroom since before we moved in a year ago. I have already fixed a leak from the toilet, the poorly sealed bath and taps and a leak from the cold water pipe leading to the sink. However it appears that the floorboards under the bath and elsewhere are rotting. I have taken up the top layer of lino only to find a layer of old lino underneath that is glued down to the floor. It is proving a nightmare to get up and nigh on impossible to take up without damaging the wooden floor underneath. Firstly does anyone have any advice regarding how best to take this up without damaging the wooden floor too much?

Secondly once we've removed the lino we want to replace some of the damaged floorboards (after airing the floor to allow it to dry out). My dilemma is that I don't really want to take out the bath but one of the worst areas of damage is directly underneath the bath feet. Is it going to be possible to support the bath and take up a floorboard at a time or will the bath need to be removed? Also, some of the floorboards appear to go benath the tiling at the edges of the room. The tiling appears to be quite thick (between 2-5cm protruding). Again is it going to be possible to get these up and how would it be best to go about it?

We are hoping to install sheet lino over the top when we are done.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks

James

我知道口ng the bath can be a pain but the job will be so much simpler if you do.
I would remove the bath and make life easy for the repair and replacement.
The boards will of course go under the wall tiles, welcome to the world of repair.
A very useful tool is a multimaster(several makes)./
or get a carpenter to do it.
