Insulation

Inaccessible rafters

Hi all
hope you are well

I have a house where in parts of the house, the roof slopes all the way down to the ceiling of the ground floor.

Because of this there are rafters where the ceiling is plastered on one side and the exterior roof on the other.

I know from looking down the rafters that these are not insulated.
I'm thinking of cutting and trying to slide kingspan/celotex etc down the rafters from the loft.
Is this a viable idea?

Please help!

Thanks in advance.

Kieran

you still have to leave a 50mm air gap & you will not get it as tight as it would be installed when the roof is off so you may create cold spots as long as you keep this in mind it should be possible to insulate better than what it is at the moment

good luck Alex

Hi Kieran

In situations like this these I usually fit (available via Wickes)“easy fit - rafter insulation”
and the help is a suitably long length of wood!

Hope this helps.
