Fireplace being opened for gas "log burner"

Hello.

I am having an old chimney opened up that used to contain an open gas fire. I am looking to install a 'Log burner style' Gas fire at some point but want to make sure the new open fireplace and hearth etc will be suitable for when I get the fire installed. Do the same regulations apply to gas "log burners" as apply to a regular log burner? Eg: spacing around and above, thickness/material of hearth etc. If so can anyone provide a link to a clear detailed list?

Thanks
Tom

Hi there stefan here from cal-ty stoves
Gas fires or log type gas stoves dont get as hot as a traditional log burner how ever allways go of the manifactures instructions as they will specify within the paperwork of the appliance some fires are designed to be fitted within
close proximity of combustables and some need a larger distance with hearths the minimum thickness of a hearth needs to be 12mm of a non combustable material unless the manufacturers specify diferent i hope this helps
