嗨，好吧，好的，基本上我在花园里开始一个小项目，这是为我的2乌龟建造一个围墙，其中包括两个区域之间的温室（一个4x2m的3x3m，中间有一个6x8温室）'ve always liked to try my hand at projects and like to learn new things so thought I would give it a go myself, my issue is I have dyscalculia so math and numbers I just struggle with so much so it’s becoming confusing and frustrating when I look for advice on how deep and wide to dig the footings and how much concrete I need etc!
Basically my idea is to have the greenhouse and wooden enclosure frames I’m making with aviary wire mesh panels sat on top of 2 layers of brick all the way round to keep the wood off the ground and underground poured concrete footings to stop them digging out and to stop foxes getting in!
I’ve marked out with string line and dug the footings (there wasn’t anything straight or level in my garden to go by so I’ve done the best I can with the knowledge I’ve been learning) to be 20cm wide and 20cm deep (does that sound ok?) I’ve use boards to line the greenhouse area and used the 3/4/5 method to ensure it’s square, i have placed 5cm of sub base at the bottom and compacted it... now it comes to trying to work out just how much and what to use to fill in the footings which is where I’m struggling, normally when I work on small projects I just go and grab the bits as I need them from wickes etc, I was going to buy multi purpose mix as I don’t have a cement mixer so will be using my wheelbarrow to mix it and don’t have side access, my husband is suggesting it will be cheaper to get ready mixed but I can’t be doing with the faff and mess of bringing it through the house over my new carpets and for the life of me can’t work out how much and what’s best to order!
Is there’s someone that can help and let me know if what I’ve done sounds like it will be ok, any other steps I may need to do to ensure it works and how much and what to get to get the footings sorted out so they are stable and level?
The total length of the whole area is 9m two ends 225cm wide and two bits in the middle for the greenhouse which are 270cm, I’ve dug out the width to 20cm and the depth is 15cm now as I’ve chucked all the stones and bits of broken brick in the hole
