Guidance on stairs

Hello.

I have had some laminate put down on my landing. Previously I had wooden posts at the top of the stairs and a wooden handrail. This was removed during the process as I wanted glass balustrades and steel posts however this is working out to be way too pricey. I have a few questions.

What can I put around the top of the stairs and the edges as it looks incomplete and not sure what would go here? (I’m referring to the square bit at the top of the stairs) I have put a link to the photos below of the bits I’m referring to.

This is a photo of what the stair area was like previously:

Does anyone have a suggestion on where I can get posts or what type of posts I can put up because the steel and glass is way over what I’d want to pay.

Any ideas/suggestions/advice would be highly appreciated as I’m a bit confused at the moment as to what can be done.

Thanks in advance.

You could up cycle some book cases either side and dual purpose them.

I would put in an silver aluminium angle on the top of the stairs as it hides the floor boards.
