One ton of sand lays a 1000 bricks and it's 7 bags of cement to a ton of sand. Bare in mind that bulk bags are not a full ton

Well I’ve always worked on either 1 yd /0.8 m2 of sand to 1000 bricks
22 bricks can be laid from a 25 kg bag of building Sand
There is 4 shovels of cement in a 25 kg .
There is 40 25 kg bags of loose material in a bulk bag 0.850 kg adverage in the bag ..

If I’m working out a small medium job this is the rule of thumb I use.

15 dumpy bags and 105 bags of cement.
Or roughly 450 25kg bags of sand if you want to do it that way.

What I would suggest is to buy a 1 ton bag of sand and 10 bags of cement. This way you can always get more if required. You can’t normally guess to the last shovel would be the best solution.
Good luck.
Ps. Don’t forget the buy at least 10 litres of solution to go with the mixing of the sand and cement. This helps it from drying up and gives you a better mix.
I tea cup per mix.
