Herringbone vs. regular engineered wooden floor labour cost
Hi,
we are looking to replace our current hardwood floors with new engineered wooden floor. We are undecided between a regular or Herringbone pattern. Would there be a meaningful difference in terms of the time it'd take to lay it ?
We'd like to replace the floors in our bedroom, corridor and bedroom - an area of 28sqm. Also, should I account for higher wastage? Thanks in advance for all your advice!
best,
Philipp

The best way is to ask a floor layer /carpenter get the work done instead of a painter, this is because they are specifically qualified for that job.
To lay 28 square meters in a herringbone pattern you need 10-15% of the wastage. The price is about two times more expensive than laying a long length of engineering wood. It takes double the time (3-4 days) in comparison to getting engineer wood (which can take a day or two to say the maximum) .
To lay engiengineering wood, you would need about 5-7% wastage of wood.
This is all based on a proffesional point of view!

Hello
First of all you need to add 20% extra for wastage before ordering the flooing and the quote price base on the total sq m
Some flooring contractors they add it and confirm price and some of them they don't
