Toilet cistern won't fill
We recently had a new bathroom fitted but the toilet keeps getting what we presume is an air lock as the cistern won't fill unless we turn off the water, run all the taps. Then it fills, but once the cistern is empty again it doesnt re-fill.
We don't have a problem with water pressure .
Can anyone offer any suggestions?
Could it be several airlocks and if we do this enough times it will right itself?

Dead simple. You have a problem with the inlet valve. Change it for a new one. Discussing it is rather like debating whether an elastic band has the same thickness all round. Dead simple change and cost less than a tenner.

I don't know what fill valve you have but the chances are it's of the equilibrium type. These rely upon water pressure itself to allow them to open & close. It sounds to me like when you flush the loo, the pressure drop isn't enough when the valve tries to open, possible due to too high a flow rate keeping the pressure too high to allow the valve to open. Usually with these type of valves there are restrictions provided for different water pressures. Chances are that as standard the low pressure 1 was in place & the installer didn't bother to change it. Either that or a little bit of muck may have blocked the tiny shut off hole in the valve is another possibility.
Hope this helps

Could possibly be either a faulty filling valve or debris within the pipework leading to the toilet cistern
