Ceiling rose - plaster or not?

Hi, I am wondering which is better to install - a plaster ceiling rose or one of the polysterene (or other material) ones? I have read that the plaster ones can be very heavy and therefore difficult to get in place whereas the lighter ones are much easier to handle and can also be fixed in place just using adhesive. Just wondering what anyone's experience of this has been? I assume once it is in place and painted it would be difficult to tell the difference anyway? Many thanks! Lesley

Plaster ceiling roses take longer to be install due to the weight, and time is money.
The Polystyrene, by far much more lighter, takes minutes to be install.

In terms of finishing, is hard to see the diference.

The plaster ceiling rose is good. But, yes it is heavy and you need some support to hold it while adhesive fully hardens. Also it is expensive. Imagine if you drop it, it will be hard to fix it.
Polystyrene rose is light and cheaper, easy and fast to fit. Only one minus that you may need to apply 3 or more paint coats to match the plaster rose.
I would choice polystyrene.
